October 2015 Reading List

I didn’t get through my September TBR. *le sigh* I’ll admit, it was probably a little bit too ambitious, but let’s recap for a second to see what I did read and review:

September 2015 TBR

  • Goliath by Scott Westerfeld (#3 of the Leviathan Series)
  • Prodigy by Marie Lu (#2 of the Legend Series)
  • Unravel Me by Tahereh Mafi (#2 of the Shatter Me Series)
  • The Unfortunate Decisions of Dahlia Moss by Max Wirestone
  • The Secret Fire by CJ Daugherty (e-ARC) (review forthcoming)
  • One of the Few by Jason B. Ladd
  • Dark Triumph by Robin LaFevers (#2 of the His Fair Assassin Series)
  • Red Rising by Pierce Brown
  • Last Light Falling: The Covenant by J.E. Plemons (e-ARC)

Well, that’s four books I did not get around to last month. But I will not let that deter me. I am setting the bar high for October and adding these three titles to my list of books that I want to read and review this month!

  • Gambit by C.L. Denault (e-ARC)
  • The Mark of Noba by G.L. Tomas (e-ARC)
  • Tower of Thorns by Juliet Marillier (e-ARC)

And because my advanced library holds came through on Tuesday, I am adding these two titles as well! Eeeeeppppp!!!!! I’m so excited to read them, I’m not gonna lie, I’m totally reading these first.

  • Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo
  • Zeroes by Scott Westerfeld

Here’s looking forward to a month of good reads and good reviews!

    1. Thanks! I practically jumped out of my skin when my library texted me saying my holds were ready for pickup. I honestly didn’t expect to get my hands on either title until late this month. In any case, all the other ARCs that I have on hand are gonna have to wait b/c no way I’ll be able to keep these longer than the two week period. I mean, someone is bound to place a hold on them, surely. I’m honestly surprised that no one has yet. (*Secretly very happy that they haven’t and maniacally chuckling to self.*)
I’ve been purposely avoiding all the hype on Six of Crows because I hate when too much hype colors my enjoyment of a book, but I’m such a hypocrite because I keep reading every review of Zeroes I find. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ A fickle creature, I am.

  1. I’m planning to read Zeroes too this month – managed to get my hands on a copy a couple of days ago. And all the hype has me wanting to read Six of Crows but I’m determined to wait until I’ve read the Grisha trilogy first. Need to knock a significant number of books off my TBR pile first before I can justify buying another trilogy. T_____T

    1. I love how all the book bloggers are like, I managed to get a hold of a copy, like we are all sharing the same feeling of excitement over this! I just adore it! 😀 I haven’t finished the grisha trilogy yet, but I couldn’t resist putting a hold for Six of Crows at the library, I figured the worst that would happen is I wouldn’t get a hold of a copy until next month. Of course they text me on Tuesday saying they have the book ready for me. 🙂

      1. I think what happens to me sometimes is that I race to the store the morning of a release but they don’t bring them out until the afternoon or something… so I have to wait until the next time I go to the store HAHA. There was a Zeroes launch at my favourite bookstore so what I should say is “I managed to get my hands on a signed copy” 😀
